| Nearly two years ago I was rushed in to surgery have a complete hysterectomy due to severe complications from endometriosis, including a pomelo sized uterine/colon tumour. Two weeks after that I had my first hot flash. The severity of these flashes as well as the sleeplessness and countless other things, were all intensified because it was a surgical menopause and therefore, not 'natural' to the body. In other words, not gradual. My body felt as though it was being attacked- by itself! It has been a constant upheaval ever since. The Estrace I was prescribed worked well on the flashes, but the weight gain was very difficult on the joints (I have OA). However, the worst part was the way it messed up my thyroid function. Luckily, I came to hear about Effisoy. In order to re-balance my thyroid I went off the Estrace, and immediately started taking Effisoy. Although I still have hot flashes, they are significantly less in their severity as well as frequency than before. Also, my thyroid function is slowly returning to normal (Effisoy does not interfere with the thyroid function- a great plus!). As I work in a hospital pharmacy, I am aware there are other soy products out there (and I receive literature daily), but I do have faith in Effisoy. I feel more stable, centered and less uncomfortable than before and can only give credit to Effisoy for that. I can now even enjoy an evening out without being soaked to the knees! Thank you to the researchers for your hard work, as well as to the ladies sharing all their wonderful stories. Ever grateful, Heather M. |

| My hot flashes have been reduced and are almost under control. My morning temper is gone and my energy level is back to normal. My insomnia is gone. I am 39 years-old and had a hysterectomy last year and I can not take any HRT. |

| After having a hysterectomy last August, I had taken the lowest dosage of Premarin to get over the initial hump of hot flashes. I however did not want to remain on the HRT drug for a long time. After stopping Premarin the hot flashes started up quite bad. I was having night sweats and a hot flash every hour of the day and night. I heard about Effisoy from reading in a magazine about its effects on menopause hot flashes. I had tried Soy Menopause, Bj's Soy Isoflavins, Remifemin along with Evening Primrose, Vitamin E and soy foods. Nothing was working. I had heard that Beth Israel Hospital in Boston was doing a clinical study on the tablets and was very interested. I had registered to join the study but after found out it would interfere with my job schedule. So I ordered Effisoy online to give it a try. I am experiencing mild effects from the Effisoy. Some days I go 2-3 hours not having the hot flashes and some days can sweat quite heavily (only from the head and neck area). In the evening I still get the night sweats that will wake me right up. They will last for 5-10 minutes. Off come the covers for that amount of time and when they pass I get very chilly. On go the heavy blankets and try to get back to sleep.
Overall I can see some improvement but it has only been 7-8 weeks. Most of the reports say it takes 2-3 months for a more marked improved to be seen. I am patiently waiting. I need to get a good night’s sleep. I will remain faithful to the Effisoy thereby and hopefully will see more improvement as the next month unveils.
If there are any other clinical studies closer to the area I live in I would be interested in doing a study.
